Programs:

Miracles House: 40 bed residential Intermediate Treatment Program forewomen and women with dependent children.

Sanctuary House-10-bed residential Reintegration Treatment Program for women with substance dependence and co-occuring mental illness.

Child/Adolescent Prevention Program (CAPP)- Prevention/Intervention program for children of substance abusing parents and/or children at-risk for substance use.

Case Management Services-Intensive strengths-based model of care for men, women, and families in need of long-term case management services.

Shelter Plus Care: Permanent supportive housing program for men, women and families that are homeless with a chronic history of addiction. The program includes housing placement, housing subsidies and 5 years of case management services

Outpatient Treatment Program- Intensive and less intensive outpatient treatment for men, women and families.

Peer-to-Peer Services-Advocacy, support groups, peer meetings and community planning for men, women and families in recovery.

Accomplishments:

  • Miracles, Inc. was the first substance abuse treatment agency in Kansas to incorporate organized case management services within an addiction treatment program (1992).
  • Miracles, Inc. was the first substance abuse treatment agency in Kansas to provide on-site prevention/intervention services to children of addicted women (1993).
  • Miracles, Inc. was the first substance abuse treatment agency in Kansas to collaborate with the Community Mental Health Center for integrated substance abuse and mental health treatment for homeless (2000).
  • Miracles, Inc. was the first agency and only agency in Kansas that has integrated substance abuse and homeless services as a Sponsor Agency with the local Housing Authority (1999).
  • Miracles, Inc. was the first agency in Kansas to develop a case management system of care for multiple treatment centers (2002).
  • Miracles, Inc. was the first substance abuse treatment agency in Kansas to provide a stand alone program for women with a co-occurring mental illness (2000).
  • Miracles, Inc. is the only program in Kansas that allows women to bring teen-age children into a residential treatment setting (1992).

Coming to Miracles

Inpatient and Reintegration

Q1: What should I bring with me to treatment?
Please bring basic necessities including clothes for self and/or children, medications, basic hygiene supplies, identification, medical card/insurance, proof of income, and other security items.
Q2: What about food?
An allotment of non-perishable food (i.e. canned vegetables and fruit, boxed skillet dinners, etc) and frozen items (i.e. hamburger) are provided upon intake. However, consumers are expected to obtain groceries once they are settled. Perishable food products (i.e. milk, bread, eggs, etc) are not provided. Since pantry and refrigerator space is shared, all food items are to be marked identifying them as associated with a consumer.
Q3: May I have visitors?
It is recommended that consumers take 7 days to settle into their routine before receiving visitors. Visitors must be attend the Relationship Dynamics Group held on Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm. Consumers must submit to their counselor the names of who is expected to attend the group by 5:00pm on Mondays. Visitation hours are from 2pm-4pm on Sunday afternoons.
Q4: Can I bring my cell phone?
Cell phones may be brought to Miracles House, however they will be kept under lock and key until the consumer is placed on reintegration status. Once on reintegration status, consumers may check out their phones to use while on pass (i.e. job searching, working, etc). There is a phone on site available for consumers to use. Q5: Are there laundry facilities nearby?
Laundry facilities are available on site for consumers to utilize during their stay. Detergent and bleach are provided.
Q6: Do I need to bring linens?
Bed linens and towels are available for consumers to use during their stay. They are checked out and are expected to be returned fully laundered and ready for a future consumer prior to discharge.
Q7: Can I receive mail?
Some personal mail is expected. The address here is 1250 N Market, Wichita, KS  67214. Since this is a business address, the standard USPS mail forwarding process is not available for when a consumer discharges. We suggest consumers keep track of who they will need to contact regarding a change of address once they discharge.
Q8: Am I allowed to smoke?
Smoking is allowed on the property in designated locations. Smoking is not allowed inside the facility buildings. We ask that all consumers be respectful of those around them who may not smoke.
